Everything you need to know about logging meals, seeing your spike, and getting the most out of GlucoPlot.
Getting Started
What is GlucoPlot?
GlucoPlot is a general wellness and glucose-tracking app for iPhone and Android. Snap a photo of your meal and our AI estimates the food and its nutrition, then shows you an estimated glucose response for that meal. Alongside meal logging, you get a daily dashboard, a library of recipe ideas, and optional connections to Apple Health, Health Connect, or a continuous glucose monitor. It is designed to help you understand how everyday meals may affect you — it is informational and not medical advice.
How do I get started?
Download GlucoPlot from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), open the app, and snap your first meal. The AI will estimate what is on your plate and its nutrition, and you can adjust anything before saving. No account is needed to start logging — your data lives on your device right away.
Is GlucoPlot free?
Yes — there is a free tier with everything you need to get going: meal logging, the dashboard, the recipe library, and a couple of AI meal scans each day. If you want more, the Standard plan raises the daily AI limits and unlocks premium AI features like meal plans, workout plans, the nutrition coach chat, and weekly insight reports.
Who is GlucoPlot for?
GlucoPlot is for anyone curious about how their meals affect them — people tracking macros or calories, anyone wearing a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), or simply folks who want to eat a little more mindfully. Many people track glucose just to learn about their bodies. The app is built around general wellness.
Logging Meals
How do I log a meal?
Pick whichever way is easiest: snap a photo, speak your meal out loud, or just type it. The AI reads what you logged and estimates the foods and their nutrition. You can also scan a barcode for a packaged item, or scan a grocery receipt to pull in what you bought. Every estimate is yours to adjust before you save.
How accurate is the AI when logging a meal?
The AI is good at recognizing foods, portions, and cooking methods, but everything it returns is an estimate, not an exact measurement. Lighting, angle, and mixed dishes can all affect the result. Think of it as a fast first draft — always give it a quick look and tweak the ingredients or portions so they match what you actually ate.
Can I edit a meal after I log it?
Absolutely. Open any meal to change its ingredients, portions, or time, or delete it entirely. Your dashboard and totals update instantly to reflect the change, so it is easy to keep things accurate over time.
Can I log meals from the past?
Yes. When you log a meal you can set the date and time to any point in the past, which is handy when you forget to log something in the moment or want to backfill your history.
Can I scan barcodes and receipts?
Yes. Scan a barcode to quickly look up a packaged product, or scan a grocery receipt to bring several items in at once. As always, the results are estimates you can review and adjust before saving.
See Your Spike (Glucose)
What does the glucose response on a meal show?
After you log a meal, GlucoPlot shows an estimated glucose response — a simple curve of how your glucose might rise, peak, and settle, drawn against a calm in-range band. It is meant to help you compare meals and spot patterns. It is an estimate based on the meal, not a measured reading, and it is informational rather than medical advice.
Can I bring in real glucose readings?
Yes. Connect Apple Health (iOS), Health Connect (Android), or a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and GlucoPlot can pull in real glucose readings, plus activity and sleep, to sit alongside your meals. Once a source is connected, you are looking at your actual numbers rather than an estimate.
Is the glucose information medical advice?
No. GlucoPlot is a general wellness and glucose-tracking app, and the glucose response is informational only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional. Always talk to a qualified professional about any health decisions.
Your Dashboard
What is on the dashboard?
The dashboard is your daily snapshot: a calorie ring showing how you are tracking against your target, your macros (protein, carbs, fat), and your water, steps, and sleep. The glucose-response card brings your meals and glucose together so you can see the whole day at a glance.
Can I track water, steps, and sleep?
Yes. You can log water through the day and, if you connect Apple Health or Health Connect, your steps and sleep can flow in automatically so the dashboard reflects your real activity and rest.
How do I see trends over time?
Beyond today, you can review your history by day, week, or month to watch how your nutrition, glucose response, and habits shift over time and to spot the patterns that matter to you.
Recipes
What is in the recipe library?
GlucoPlot comes with a large library of recipe ideas across many cuisines, each shown with a photo and nutrition details. They are starting points to spark ideas — meant to be browsed, saved, and made your own rather than followed to the letter.
What does "Make it Yours" do?
"Make it Yours" saves an editable copy of any recipe to your collection. From there you can tweak the ingredients and portions to match your taste, then log it as a meal. The original stays put; your version is yours to change however you like.
Can I create my own recipes and ingredients?
Yes. You can build your own recipes by combining ingredients and portions, and add custom ingredients when something is not already in the catalog. Your recipes and ingredients are saved on your device for whenever you need them.
Are the recipe photos real photographs of the food?
The recipe images are illustrative pictures that go with each idea — they are there to help you picture the dish, not to represent a specific plate you will produce. The recipes themselves are editable starting points, so adjust them to suit you.
Are the glucose or health scores on recipes verified?
No. Any glucose-related figures attached to library recipes are rough estimates and have not been validated, so please do not rely on them as exact. The recipes are best used as inspiration you customize; for real numbers, log the meal and connect a glucose source.
Nutrition & Targets
How are my targets set?
Your daily targets — calories and macros — are based on the profile details you choose to share, such as your goals and basic metrics. You can also set your own custom targets at any time if you prefer to drive them yourself.
Can I choose how my macros are split?
Yes. You can adjust how your daily calories are divided across protein, carbs, and fat to match the way you like to eat, and change it whenever your goals change.
Do I have to enter personal information?
No. Profile details are completely optional. You can log meals and explore nutrition without sharing anything personal. If you do add profile details, they stay on your device and are only used to personalize your targets and insights.
AI Features & Daily Limits
What AI features does GlucoPlot have?
AI helps you log meals from a photo, your voice, or text, and powers barcode and receipt scanning. On the Standard plan it also unlocks premium AI: meal plans, workout plans, a nutrition coach chat, and weekly insight reports that pull your week together.
How do the daily AI limits work?
AI features cost real money to run, so there is a friendly daily allowance that depends on your plan. The free Basic tier gives you a couple of AI meal scans a day to try things out, and the Standard plan raises those limits substantially. The allowance resets each day, so you always start fresh tomorrow.
What is the difference between Basic and Standard for AI?
Basic includes a small everyday allowance — a couple of meal photo scans and voice logs per day — which is plenty for casual logging. Standard raises every limit (more photo, voice, text, receipt, and barcode scans) and unlocks the premium AI features: meal plans, recipe ideas, workout plans, the nutrition coach chat, and weekly reports.
Do AI features work offline?
No. The AI features need an internet connection because they run on our servers. Logging meals manually, browsing your saved recipes, and viewing your history all work offline.
Coaching & Insights (Standard)
What are AI meal plans?
On Standard, GlucoPlot can generate a meal plan for a day or a whole week tailored to your preferences and targets. It is a ready-made starting point you can follow as-is or adjust to fit your week.
What are AI workout plans?
Standard includes AI-generated workout plans you can request to complement your nutrition. Like everything else in the app, they are suggestions to adapt to your own level and routine.
What is the nutrition coach chat?
The nutrition coach is a Standard chat where you can ask general questions about food, meals, and habits and get friendly, plain-language answers. It is informational wellness guidance, not medical advice.
What is in the weekly insight report?
Each week, Standard can put together an insight report that summarizes how your week went — patterns in your meals, glucose response, and habits — so you can reflect and plan the week ahead.
Subscriptions & Pricing
How much does Standard cost?
Standard is around $7.99 per month or $49.99 per year, which works out cheaper on the yearly plan. Pricing can vary by region and currency, and any free trial is shown right in the app — the App Store or Google Play screen always displays the exact price before you confirm.
How do I subscribe, and where is my purchase handled?
You subscribe straight from inside the app. Purchases are handled securely by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) using your existing store account, and your subscription syncs across the devices signed in to that same store account.
How do I restore a previous purchase?
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, open the subscription screen and tap "Restore Purchases". As long as you are signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with, your Standard access will come right back.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Manage or cancel any time through your store: on iOS via Settings > your name > Subscriptions, and on Android via Google Play > Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals while you keep Standard until the end of the period you already paid for.
Privacy & Your Data
Where is my wellness data stored?
Your wellness data — meals, nutrition, glucose readings, sleep, and activity — is stored locally on your device, not on our servers. That means it stays with you and is protected by your device's own security like your passcode and biometrics.
What gets sent when I use an AI feature?
When you use an AI feature, only the meal data needed for that request is sent for processing — the photo, text, or audio you logged. Your name and email are never included, and the data is not stored permanently after the request is handled. Only the results come back and are saved on your device.
Where do the recipes and photos come from?
The recipe and ingredient catalog, along with its photos, is fetched from our servers so it stays fresh and up to date, with an offline bundled copy as a backup if you have no connection. No personal data is sent when fetching the catalog.
What information do you collect about how I use the app?
We only collect anonymous, aggregate counts — for example how many times a recipe was viewed or liked across everyone. These counts are not tied to you and contain no personal information; they simply help us understand which recipes are popular.
Does GlucoPlot work offline?
Yes for the essentials. Logging meals, editing them, browsing saved recipes, and viewing your history all work without a connection. The AI features (meal scanning, plans, chat, weekly reports) need internet because they run on our servers.
What happens to my data if I delete the app?
Because your wellness data lives only on your device, removing the app deletes that data permanently — we cannot recover it since it was never on our servers. The same applies if you reset or lose your device. If keeping your history matters, hold on to your device backup.
